RDF(Radial Distribution Function)is a function of distribution of other atoms or molecules from an atom or a molecule with the distance as the independent variable. It is used to interpret electron diffraction or X-ray diffraction, and makes it possible to discuss about the regularity in distance or so from the regularity in amplitude. It corresponds to the Patterson function in the analysis of crystal structure.
